Scott Shackleton
The Rev Dr Scott JS Shackleton BA BD PhD is a Church of Scotland Minister whose theological training was at St Mary’s College, University of St Andrews. Following his Probationary Ministry in St Andrews he joined the Naval Service as a Chaplain Royal Navy where he served for twenty seven years and during this time he passed Commando training and attended ICSC (M) and ACSC (modular).
Scott has served as Principal Chaplain Royal Navy and, in that role, served as the Principal of the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre, Amport House, then Deputy Chaplain of the Fleet and as Head of the Naval Service Ethics Programme which became the Conduct and Culture Cell for the Naval Service. Following retirement from the Royal Navy Scott become the Head of the Faith Action Programme for The Church of Scotland. He then briefly served as the Lead Officer for Transforming Plymouth Together within the Church of England Church Urban Fund before landing a 'perfect job' (his words) as CEO Aggies and enjoying a return to serving the Naval family. He is married to Gillian and they have two sons (36 & 33 years) and a labrador puppy 7 months.

Andy Gordon
Chief of Staff
Andy joined Aggie’s as the Operations and HR Manager in April 2021. Having started his career as a Marine Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy, more recently he worked in the cruise ship industry where the ships were remarkably similar except there were more swimming pools. Andy has always been a ‘people focussed’ person and this has led to a new direction for his professional development which saw him become a Chartered Member of the CIPD. He lives in Southampton with his wife Anna and two young children, and is part of the leadership team at Ascension Church in Bitterne Park. Andy’s passion outside of work is sport. He has always been a huge rugby fan but more recently has taken up triathlon and is the Chairman and Coach for a local club which promotes and encourages newcomers to the sport.

Kathryn Hearn
Communications and Storybook Waves Manager
Kathryn joined Aggie’s in January 2015 as a volunteer editor for Storybook Waves, after a few weeks the incumbent Storybook Waves project manager left and Kathryn joined the Castaway House team.
Kathryn’s background in radio, events and promotions has ensured the successful growth of Storybook Waves since she joined the project and has also seen Kathryn take on the charity’s role of Communications Officer.

Racheal McHugh
Operations Co-ordinator
(operations, communications & HR)
Racheal Joined the Castaway House Team in 2022. She is working with the Storybook Waves project and assisting the Communications Manager for 18 hours a week. She recently moved to Hampshire with her Royal Marine husband, two children, one fluffy dog and two cats.
Racheal has previously worked as a secretary for the NHS and a PA for the National Probation Service before taking time out to have her children and travel abroad. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks in the countryside, seaside strolls and learning to play the piano.

Niaomi Dart
Assistant Accountant
Niaomi joined the team at Castaway House in June 2018. With a wealth of experience in administration and finance Niaomi provides finance support to both the Finance and Fundraising Managers.
When not in the office Niaomi can be be found running the trails, or hiking across the beautiful Hampshire countryside.
